Today’s lesson we have a variety of belt ranks in class. We start yellow belt basics threading in terminology and and Kenpo 5.0 jargon with the assistance of the higher rank students.
Each Higher ranked student took turns teaching something from he beginner curriculum, first a round kick, then toward the end of class the doubles section of Blocking Set 1
Mid-class we separated to groups working belt appropriate material, higher ranks worked isolation drills to develope muscle memory surrounding Short Form 2 footwork transitions. Beginning group worked on Neutral stance transition to Cat stance, add in the front kick off the front leg, land in Neutral stance.
This class is a great example of how as we move up to higher ranks the new material we are learning adds layers of detail and knowledge to the curriculum we have already learned.
